Many people are unsure exactly what they need when they carry out an online search for designer bed sets. They start looking before they have decided their specific requirements. Exactly what size of bed do they have? A queen bed to one could be a king bed to another, and so on to what exactly is a California King? What size is a child’s bed? Is a single bed the same as one member of a twin? Easy when you know the answers, but not so easy if you are unsure! You don’t want to be spending cash on a king if all you need is a queen bed set.
For example, a California King comforter can be anything from 104 to 114 inches wide and 92 to 106 inches long give or take a few inches depending on the actual dimensions of your mattress. A Cal-king duvet and cover, on the other hand, might be best at around 90 - 94 inches wide and 104 inches long. As previously mentioned, many Americans are happy to use a comforter and leave the duvet.
You should know that the queen bed frames are spacious enough to accommodate two persons quite comfortably and so most master bedrooms have one such bed occupying the place of honor generally in the middle of the room. Of course, if your room is even bigger you can opt for a king size bed frame. It is wider and so if you would rather have more personal space while you are actually sleeping you may get one. However, few of us actually have big enough space to accommodate such a bed and so the queen bed frames are more popular with average families.
Through the ages, the top part of the bed has been developed to protect people from drafts while sleeping, and has also been used as a backrest and headrest, as a table for eating in bed (the board would be unlatched and placed over the lap) and as today, for preventing pillows falling behind the bed.
We are not discussing those all singing all dancing bed panels with all the bells and whistles such as an integrated radio, alarm clock, bookshelf and lights. We are discussing plain boards with no bells and no whistles. Your headboard can set the decorative style of a bedroom, and can also express your own style of creativity.
Ottoman beds are perfect for creating extra storage space in smaller rooms such as guest bedrooms and children’s bedrooms. Ottoman beds are designed so the base of the bed lifts up completely so items can be stored in the base. Many ottoman beds come with an assisted lift system which means the bed top can be lifted easily and accessing the storage space is simple and safe. If you choose an ottoman bed with a sprung base then you are not only investing in a storage solution but also choosing a bed which provides a restful and comfortable nights sleep. Most online bed shops sell ottoman beds and they can actually work out cheaper to buy than purchasing a bed and storage solutions separately.
Air beds use a mattress that is air-inflated. In many cases they also have a small electric air pump that allows one to change the firmness of the mattress. This type is not to be mistaken for the well known portable air mattress which is used as a travel bed or to sleep temporary guests in a house.
If you are short on space then a stowaway bed is the simple way to free up extra room. Stowaway beds are designed to be lifted up and secured to the wall, leaving you with lots of extra floor space available. If you have a small children’s bedroom then stowaway beds save vital space which your children can use to play in, as pulling the bed out of the way will instantly increase the available floor space in the bedroom. If you live in a studio apartment then a stowaway bed will be ideal for changing your bedroom into a living room and back again so you have more flexibility with the space.
So, here are some tips to make sure that you choose the correct size of designer bedding sets online for you - whether they are king size bedding or baby bed sets. You could measure your sizes on your own beds, but what if you are buying a wedding gift, or simply bedding for a relative such as your son or daughter and don’t want to ask them because then it wouldn’t be a surprise?
