Some refer to the headboard as being the frame to the bed’s painting. In fact, it has gone further than that and has become the painting itself. The footboard contributes to an extent, and so does the quilt or bed covering. The bed frame, as stated above, is not seen. However, in general parlance, the bed is the whole item, and the head of the bed, footboard frame and bed coverings are simply components.
If you are short on space then a stowaway bed is the simple way to free up extra room. Stowaway beds are designed to be lifted up and secured to the wall, leaving you with lots of extra floor space available. If you have a small children’s bedroom then stowaway beds save vital space which your children can use to play in, as pulling the bed out of the way will instantly increase the available floor space in the bedroom. If you live in a studio apartment then a stowaway bed will be ideal for changing your bedroom into a living room and back again so you have more flexibility with the space.
You should know that the queen bed frames are spacious enough to accommodate two persons quite comfortably and so most master bedrooms have one such bed occupying the place of honor generally in the middle of the room. Of course, if your room is even bigger you can opt for a king size bed frame. It is wider and so if you would rather have more personal space while you are actually sleeping you may get one. However, few of us actually have big enough space to accommodate such a bed and so the queen bed frames are more popular with average families.
Space is actually a problem with many of us. To make sure that every square inch of the available space can be put to optimum use, the furniture designers and manufacturers have developed different innovative ideas and a bunk bed is just an example of it. You find them in ships, army garrisons, hostel dormitories, university residence halls, summer camp cabins, and even in some homes, where there are more children than there are bedrooms.
Did you know? In some Asian cultures people have historically not used bed frames. These "platform" beds are especially common in Japan and use a futon mattress! There are a number of different bed and mattress types that are used around the world.
A cedar chest would be a great addition to your bedroom, if it was already decked out with cherry bedroom furniture. However, you must also get a cherry hardwood-based cedar chest to match the overall tone and atmosphere of your room. Choose a shade that is pleasing to the eye. If you want to go with a richer tone, by all means, do so, but remember that you do not want to make your room look too old and ancient and mature. Choose linen and curtains that are refreshing to the eye to create a balanced feel - the lightness will even out the richness of the cherry hardwood.
Ottoman beds are perfect for creating extra storage space in smaller rooms such as guest bedrooms and children’s bedrooms. Ottoman beds are designed so the base of the bed lifts up completely so items can be stored in the base. Many ottoman beds come with an assisted lift system which means the bed top can be lifted easily and accessing the storage space is simple and safe. If you choose an ottoman bed with a sprung base then you are not only investing in a storage solution but also choosing a bed which provides a restful and comfortable nights sleep. Most online bed shops sell ottoman beds and they can actually work out cheaper to buy than purchasing a bed and storage solutions separately.

Through my research, I have found that medical experts advise that the best way to ease back pain is to position yourself with your back on the floor, with pillows under your knees, hips and knees bent, with your feet raised on a chair. Now imagine yourself in that position. Looks rather awkward, doesn’t it. Can you imagine doing this every time your back begins to act up? Now imagine yourself, if you can, in an adjustable bed perfectly aligned to provide the same comforting relief. Looks a lot better on an adjustable bed than on the floor, doesn’t it.

Through the ages, the top part of the bed has been developed to protect people from drafts while sleeping, and has also been used as a backrest and headrest, as a table for eating in bed (the board would be unlatched and placed over the lap) and as today, for preventing pillows falling behind the bed.
